What happened to Carolina Crown?
Following a successful return to competition in 2021, BandBEAT will be held again this fall on October 8, 2022. We are excited to announce the return of Carolina Crown to the performance field for an evening of celebration, fun, and most importantly – DRUM CORPS!
When did Carolina Crown win?
2013
Carolina Crown won the 2013 Drum Corps International World Class Championship, the first former Open Class/Division II corps to do so.
What is Carolina Crown guard?
Drum corps are touring outdoor performing ensembles, much like a marching band, featuring brass, battery, front ensemble, & color guard. Carolina Crown is a member corps of Drum Corps International’s World Class, meaning that Crown is one of the top marching ensembles in the world.

Is Carolina Crown performing in 2021?
Since early June, the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps have been rehearsing an all-new project for the summer of 2021, without the typical live performances in DCI events.
What’s the difference between drum corps and marching band?
Whereas a marching band will include flutes, clarinets and saxophones, a drum and bugle corps utilizes only brass and percussion and color guard (no woodwind instruments) and they are not affiliated with a school or college.
