How does a flocking machine work?
The process uses special equipment that electrically charges the flock particles causing them to stand-up. The fibres are then propelled and anchored into the adhesive at right angles to the substrate. The application is both durable and permanent. Flock can be applied to glass, metal, plastic, paper or textiles.

Do you have to seal wood before flocking?
As long as you discover the issue within a day or two it can easily be cleaned up with a little mineral spirits on a folded up paper towel or rag. That’s another reason why you should always apply your finish before flocking. On bare wood, any stray adhesive will leave a permanent stain.
Can you use Mod Podge for flocking?
I actually use modge podge, which is similar to white glue. I find it gives better adhesion and goes on thicker giving me a little more working time. It dries clear, so it does not change the color of any flocking material.
